  • Windows 7′s Boot Time is Awesomely Less Than Vista’s

So over at lifehacker the lead editor, Gina Trapani, has posted some very interesting results concerning the boot times of the three major Windows OS’s, XP, Vista, and two different Windows 7 Ultimate beta builds (Build 6801 and Build 7000), all of which were triple-booted on seperate partitions of the same SATA harddrive. It’s an interesting quick read, but you might be wondering “what’s 3-4 seconds of boot time? Whoop-dee-doo.” Well, as Gina explains, “they are clear and consistent speed boosts, and hopefully they’re a sign that things will get even faster since Windows 7 is still in beta.”

Sounds good to me! Personally I haven’t been able to test it too much as I have a crappy wireless dongle connection to the net, and I have found myself stuck downloading Guild Wars on it, but defiantly a big improvement!
