The Mercy Killing of All Points Bulletin

So, I’ll admit to being lazy a lot, which should be painfully obvious (and annoying) by now, but I’ve been busy recently due to my classes I’m taking to help me further my ultimate goal of becoming a superstar web designer. Maybe. Anyway, moving on. you may have heard in the previous weeks leading up to now, that Realtime Worlds, developer and publisher of All Points Bulletin, had some money issues and decided to “let go” a few employees 6 weeks after the release of APB, and entered administration. This was most likely due to poor management, ignoring feedback from beta testers (like me) and a number of other issues. Read on…read on… Continue reading

Crazy Busy and a Happy 4th of July

So, as you may have noticed I’ve been a tad busy. “On what?” you might ask. Well, as you may or may not know, I’m design websites and am actually looking to get into it as a career, so for the last month or so I’ve been buried inside Dreamweaver and Photoshop working with Mr. “blue” Roysher and the Gaming World Entertainment Network crew on their website, but (way) earlier this morning at around 4am it all paid off as the site finally launched. So that’s been my big project for the last month, which means I’m now more free to get back to blogging and gaming.

Speaking of which, APB released and much to my dismay I still can’t get a decent FPS-count from it, but I’ve been assured it’s being worked on by the lazy developers, regardless, I’ve been having a blast with my Enforcer clan, Fist of the Empire [FoE] and can’t wait to see what Realtime Worlds rolls out for the game next (aside from major fixes).

Anyway, that’s what’s been going on, and tomorrow is Independence day, so for all you Americans, have a happy 4th of July, and even if you’re not American, have a good day regardless!

End of the Week Notes, WWDC Has Ended

That’s right, today is the final day of Apple’s Wordlwide Developer’s Conference in San Francisco and it seems to have a pretty big hype, especially for the new (but not new) iPhone 4 which will bring some pretty cool features, like a 720p HD video recorder and a front-facing camera. I wish I could get one, but I guess I don’t have enough friends to warrant buying one. There were some other things that might interest everyone, but chances are you’ve already read up on it so we’ll leave it at that. you can tell I’m not a big apple guy. :)

On the gaming side, this past Thursday was to be the the beginning of the ‘Key to the City’ event for everyone who pre-ordered All Points Bulletin, but it seems that has been put on hold for…actually I don’t really know.

We’ve worked tirelessly to bring the service online, installing and configuring a massive amount of new hardware in our data-centres, to help meet the high demand and bring you the best experience we can. As we’re sure you’ll appreciate, this is a huge undertaking and unfortunately on this occasion, we’ve hit a number of installation delays.

Oh, okay, I guess that makes sense. So while I’m waiting for Saturday to roll around, the War in Kryta in Guild Wars is still raging on with new quests and bounties being given out, and there’s some more info on GW2 that I’ll go into more detail about in a later post!

Have a fun weekend, everyone!

P.S. I’m going to PAX Prime this September. Which is cool I guess. :D
