The next Beta Weekend Event (BWE) for Guild Wars 2 has been announced and there’s some good news (aside from that news, of course!) and some other bits of information that is pertinent for the BWE player!
As with the previous weekend, this weekend’s event will be 60 hours of players running around the land of Tyria in search of bugs and exploits for the ArenaNet team to eventually fix, as well as to test the content of the game and give some feedback. The good news is that the characters made in the previous test will be carried over for this one, meaning some higher-level content will be getting played around with by some players who have played enough to get to a high enough level. I’m sure others, however, will be rolling some new characters to try a different class or just for the the sake of making a new character and try something different. And, of course, this weekend beta is once again a good way for new players who pre-purchased after the last weekend to get in and try the game so there will be that flood of new characters.
As for me, my body is ready and I’ll be rolling a new character. Most likely a norn warrior since I’ve yet to touch that profession so it will be something new for me. And as with any beta, I look forward to running across random glitches and bugs that are a good laugh and taking all the screenshots I can. Hopefully many more hi-res shots capturing the beautifully painted world ArenaNet has crafted! if not, most likely screenshots of many silly or interesting things. I’ll also look more at crafting as well since I barely touched it the first beta go around. All of which, of course, done within the 60 no-sleep-hours available (or more, if for some mysterious reason the game is available earlier than scheduled! *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*). Meanwhile, I’ll have an eye on GuildWars2Live.com for some more laughs at other player’s beta experiences and I will even be streaming there myself! It’s during the early hours (3-5am EDT) Saturday and Sunday morning, so be prepared for terrible quality, quality swearing, and some laughs should you watch.
Please do come and watch, it’ll be fun!
Until then, stay lazy, beta testers.
