News Flash! AVATAR Makes A Lot of Money Opening Weekend! Guild Wars Mortgages My Soul
Posted on December 21st, 2009 No commentsThank you Captains Obvious and Duh. So, yes, AVATAR was released this past Friday and despite harsh winter conditions (at least here on the East Coast) people flocked to their local theater en masse. Over the weekend the film managed to rake in $232.2 Million, and for a movie that cost $300m that’s pretty damn good. Not record breaking, but pretty. Damn. Good.
Me, I’ve yet to see it as ArenaNet was too busy making money by selling players of Guild Wars two costumes that allows your characters to dress up as Dwayna or Grenth, and i’ll admit, they look pretty bad-ass.
And at first, I was against the whole idea of selling costumes and fashion rather than actual content for money, and still am, but with the both-for-$10 deal they have until the 17th of January next year and the fact I’m a sucker for good-looking costumes, especially ones with such quality and detail, I just had to have them. Yes, I’m a hypocrite.
And then, in Guild Wars still, Wintersday is upon the community, and that means farming for that elusive Miniature Polar Bear that I’ve been farming the last 3 Wintersdays for only to fall short and not get anything but a bunch of Candy Cane shards. And no one likes Candy Cane shards.
3rd year’s a charm, right?
