So, It’s been nearly ten years since the release of my beloved Dreamcast, and only 7 years since it was discontinued, so you’d think there wouldn’t be any new games for it, especially with the current-gen and all. Well, it seems HUCAST.net didn’t get the memo, or a more likely scenario, HUCAST.net got the memo and had a good laugh while cutting small Dreamcast logos out of it to hang on its blood-soaked fridge. On June 17th, 2009, HUCAST released its self-published shmup for the Dreamcast, with the simple name, DUX. Yes, the Dreamcast, and yes, ‘DUX’. Developed by HUCAST.net and KonTechs Ltd., this R-Type clone, while a tad pricey…okay very pricey, at $35 plus shipping, seeks to find life on an ancient and forgotten console that hasn’t seen light in years.
